“Adds scope to the story… fresh Production”

“The Edmonton version detours in ways that add scope to the story, and a major change which sees the bank manager played by a woman (the multi-instrumental Karen Lizotte) instead of a man works beautifully…

The Citadel’s fresh production (with Cory Sincennes designing the set and costumes) places the tale variously on a Dublin street, in a crowded flat, and also on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The cliff scenes are particularly noteworthy, giving the assembled characters a chance to reflect on a world that’s greater than themselves, and to imagine making their way outside the protective confines of family, and habit….

…creative staging, and lively choreography by Julie Tomaino”
