I love collaborating with Brett Smock. We had collaborated many times before this, and this cast was unbelievably talented, hot, and really good at their jobs. They were established, really strong, and everything you want in a cast taking on Cabaret.

Brett has such a strong vision for the show. He makes it a strong, muscular, dark version of the story. And collaborating with Paige Faure — holy fuck, just a superstar.

As the Associate Director/Choreographer, I communicate Brett’s vision when he's not in the room and support it when he is. We worked on the choreography for several days before the full cast started rehearsal, so we could split up: he could work scenes while I set choreography. It was a fun, fast, rigorous, intense process, roughly 10 to 14 days from first rehearsal to opening night.

It’s fast, but it doesn't feel fast. It feels like there's time for everything because everybody's just working so hard and getting it done.
