Sister Act

 A Note from Julie

Sister Act is about good meets bad, evil meets wholesome, dark meets light. The themes that carry the show through are sisterhood and finding help in the places you least expect. Both Mother Superior and Deloris find help in each other, even though they resist it at every turn.

It's based on the original movie starring Whoopi Goldberg. It's a tough script because it's really filmic, but the songs are more interesting. On the page, the show is not very lively, but actually embodying the show is way more fun. The '70s music, the '70s style, and the disco party with the nuns - it’s a good time.

Karen Burthwright was just spectacular in this show. She's a little spitfire, and she was super fun to work with.
